I remember Dale as the smartest boy in my classes at FW Gregory Jr High and at Franklin. I was quite jealous of his math ability. Here is the eulogy by his brother Wade:
I knew Dale since 4th grade. He was a good friend through elementary school, junior high, and Franklin. He may have been the youngest in our class since he skipped an early elementary grade. Just associating with him stretched my own intellectual capacities. I remember he would call me on the phone before each big Latin test or exam to thoroughly review the extensive passage we would need to translate on the test. Maybe he was doing this to attain personal academic perfection for himself, but I suspect he knew he was raising my level of accomplishment also. I lost touch with him after graduation as we went separate ways, but I have always appreciated his influence in my life.
